UConn beats James Madison 3-0 in NCAA soccer tournament

STORRS (AP) ? Carlos Alvarez and Tony Cascio each scored a goal and added an assist as Connecticut moved into the quarterfinals of the NCAA soccer tournament Sunday with a 3-0 win over James Madison.

Alvarez scored the game winner for UConn (19-3-2) in the first half, finding the upper left corner of the net on a pass from Cascio for his sixth goal of the season.

The shutout was the 16th for the Huskies this season, a new school record.
