Company Cautions That Not All Replacement Windows Houston ...

In order to provide "ready incentives" for consumers to upgrade to energy-efficient options, All-Tex Home Improvement Services has renewed its offer to package all replacement windows with lifetime glass replacement and transferable warranties.

Houston, TX (prHWY.com) March 12, 2012 - Houston, TX - March 12, 2012 - All-Tex Home Improvement Services - "Despite the general impression that energy efficiency incentives are universal, not all replacement windows Houston locals purchase can actually qualify for tax credits," All-Tex Home Improvement Services announced today.

The home improvement contractor said it was concerned that the difficulty to qualify for incentives might discourage Houston residents from gravitating to energy-efficient windows - low-emissivity dual panes that improve insulation and regulate solar heat gain.

Workaround
In order to provide "ready incentives" for consumers to upgrade to energy-efficient options, the company has renewed its offer to package all replacement windows with lifetime glass replacement and transferable warranties.

The transferable warranty is designed to help original buyers of the replacement window to keep home resale values up and - once the property changes hands - to allow the second-hand owner to enjoy the same warranties assigned to the first buyer.

The lifetime glass replacement guarantee is for the tempered glass units of the standard package. "Even though it is four or even five times tougher than regular glass, tempered glass can still break. In the rare case this happens, we want our customers to know we've got them covered," said the company.

Qualifying Restrictions

Energy Star had earlier clarified in its website that meeting Energy Star standards does not necessarily entitle a product to federal rebates.

Buyers need to meet ownership and occupancy, date of purchase and installation, and tax application filing requirements first.

* Ownership and Occupancy. Valid until December 2016, the 30 percent tax credit program for energy conservation is open for owner-occupied homes only. It excludes rented properties and vacation houses.

* Purchase and Installation. Only replacement windows purchased and installed within specified time frames qualify. For instance, the 2011 program covered only 2009 to 2011 purchases and installations.

Replacement windows Houston locals bought ahead but are due for installation at a later date outside of the prescribed period may be ineligible.

* Tax Filing. To apply for credit, appropriate IRS forms and attachments need to be submitted by the filing date. The attachments required include the manufacturer's warranty and the original purchase receipts.

Overcoming the qualifying restrictions can be daunting for busy homeowners, All-Tex Home Improvement Services said. The personal tax credit program also leaves out business-minded Houston locals who own rental properties and second homes.

By offering ready incentives along with each replacement window purchased, the company hopes to encourage not just the direct occupants but also all types of Houston locals to boost the state's energy conservation efforts.

Texas energy consumption alone accounts for a tenth of the nation's grand total, revealed the US Department of Energy. Statistics also show that about 33.3 percent of the state's overall energy consumption comes from residential dwelling units and that Houston residents are currently spending an average of $0.25 for every kilowatt-hour of electrical power consumed.
