Kinect has been an incredibly successful venture for Microsoft, with around 18 million units sold during its first year on the market. However despite its popularity it remains out of reach for some households due to its relatively steep cost, which Microsoft has now addressed with a deep price cut.
The platform holder has permanently slashed the Kinect?s price from $149.99 to $109.99 in the US, and announced that the peripheral has also received a price cut in Canada, Latin America and certain Asia Pacific regions. On October 4th the Kinect sensor will be available at a permanently reduced price in Australia and New Zealand.
Are you more likely to get a Kinect now that it?s available at a lower price point (depending on where you live)? Let us know in the comments.
